Text Box: NHS Leicestershire County and Rutland met with Stakeholders on Tuesday 27th January 2009 to discuss the progress of the Community Health Service Review that has been ongoing over the past few months.
The public consultation by NHS Leicestershire County and Rutland on the future of community health services closed on 5 October after 16 weeks. There were a total of more than 1,000 responses from individuals and organisations, including other NHS Trusts, local authorities, voluntary and community groups. The Trust Board considered the Text Box: recommendations for Melton Borough on the 15th January 2009 and the main points that were considered and decided upon were as follows;.
•The board agreed that Melton would be a main ‘Community Hub’ and as part of this would demonstrate an extended range of outpatient and inpatient beds and an increase in diagnostics. 
•The board has made no decision to de-commission the birthing unit and this will be relocated within the hospital.
•The board are keen to make the decision on the sale of St Mary Site at a later date as the first priority is to get the main part of the new hospital Text Box: up and running and to let the board decide on the right time to sell. It was clear from the review that more clarity was needed on the subject of minor injury and illness and the information around the provision of services. Bringing with them the Future Foxes Soccer Academy for all young people aged 8—16 years old. Expert advice will be on hand from the Text Box: legends themselves and qualified, friendly coaches will run the sessions over a 4 day period from the 9th—12th April at Egerton Park, Melton Mobray . As ambassadors for The Cove children's centre they have already Text Box: met a number of young people in the Borough and are hoping to work with many more.
