Bottesford, whose population is approaching 3000, lies on the River Devon some 16 miles to the north of Melton Mowbray, in the Vale of Belvoir -- the A52 by-passing the village. Commuters are also served by the railway line which links Bottesford directly to Grantham and Nottingham.
The market place has both its cross and the stocks still preserved, while the Parish Church of St Mary's -- with the highest spire in Leicestershire (at 212 feet tall) -- has many interesting momuments.
