The St Egelwin’s Back to the Future project features a unique partnership between the church, school and local community in Scalford.

It aims to update and renovate the interior of the church to create a welcoming and useful space for the whole community, and in particular the local school.

Renovation plans include:

• Installation of underfloor heating
• Replacement of some of the pews with moveable seating
• Provision of toilet and refreshment facilities
• Maintaining a quiet and holy space in the chancel
• Creation of meeting rooms
• Installation of new supplies of water, electricity and telephone
• Eco-friendly measures such as zoning underfloor heating and low energy light bulbs

We have several fundraising events planned for 2009. These include:

• Saturday October 10th - Forties Dance - dancing and wartime entertainer, supper, bar and raffle all on a 40s theme

• Saturday November 14th - Autumn Supper - join us for an evening of delicious food and drink, plus entertainment and a raffle

• Sunday November 29th - Christmas Comes To Scalford - watch this space for further details
