Frisby Players

Introduction
About Us
logoplayers_HallFrisby Players is a small, informal amateur dramatic group, which was formed in 1995. Since then we have staged various comedies, farces and other events. The Players' purpose, apart from our own enjoyment, is to provide entertainment to village residents and friends while raising funds for local causes and organisations mainly in our own village and in the Parish of the Upper Wreake. To date we have raised around £6,000, which has been distributed to the Village Hall, the church, the local school and pre-school, cricket club etc.

Our productions take place in the newly extended Village Hall, which now has a seating capacity of 120, when the stage is erected. Each production is staged over three consecutive nights, normally a Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.

Ticket prices are £5 but we have a concessionary night on the Thursday when ticket prices for children, students and OAP's are £3.50.

We have a membership of around 30 people, not all of which are actors, of course. There is a production team who create scenery, find costumes and props, control the lighting and sound. Other members provide stage management back-up, help to promote the events or provide the front of house assistance and man the licensed bar on the actual production nights.
